On Saturday, March 20, 2027, it will be exciting and creative again at CAKE & BAKE. From 14:30 to 17:30, teams will compete against each other in the big live competition.
Three tiers. Three hours. Your idea.
On Saturday 20 March 2027, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, cake art becomes a live experience: at CAKE & BAKE, you’ll work as a team to create a three-tiered cake in front of an audience. The theme? You decide!
CAKE & BAKE is organising this live competition in partnership with Tortenkünstler Deutschland e.V. (TKD e.V.). A maximum of five teams, each with up to five participants, can enter the competition. You put your own team together and register via the competition website.
The cake must have three tiers, and all decorations must be 100 per cent edible. Non-edible supports are permitted only inside the cake and must not be visible. All standard cake art techniques are permitted, such as modelling, painting, 2D and 3D work, sugar flowers, royal icing, wafer paper and much more. The winning team will receive 150 euros as a prize.
What you’ll need to take part
Whether it’s modelling, painting, sugar flowers or royal icing – all standard cake art techniques are permitted. All decorations must be 100 per cent edible. Non-edible supports may only be used inside the cake and must not be visible.
We’ll provide workbenches, cake dummies, white fondant and modelling paste. Please bring your own food colouring, tools, silicone moulds and other equipment. You may only use your own edible mixtures in their raw form; ready-made decorations are not permitted. Please plan your work without access to a power socket. From 2.00 pm, you can set up your workstations; all work must be completed by 5.30 pm.
Watch, vote and cheer on the contestants
The audience will be there live – both on Saturday from 2.30 pm whilst the creative work is underway, and on Sunday until 2.00 pm, when all the finished cakes can be admired. Spectators will vote for their favourites, and the awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, 21 March 2027, at 4.00 pm.
A coordinator will be on hand throughout the competition to act as a point of contact. They will provide organisational support and advice to the teams, without, however, being involved in the creation of the cakes. The proceedings and the voting will be supervised by the coordinator and members of TKD e.V.
