Live Competition
“Magic Black & White” – Saturday, March 28, 2026
REGISTER NOW
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, it will be exciting and creative again at CAKE & BAKE. From 14:30 to 17:30, teams will compete against each other in the big live competition.
Three floors, two colors, one wow effect!
The task: Within three hours, a three-tier cake is created on the theme of “Magic Black & White”, which is designed with an eye-catching, freely selectable color accent.
The competition is organized in cooperation with Tortenkünstler Deutschland e.V. (TKD e.V.). A maximum of five teams with up to five participants each can take part. The teams put themselves together independently and then register bindingly via the competition page of the trade fair.
The color concept is clearly defined: black and white form the basis, with a bright accent chosen by the customer. The cake must have three tiers and all decorations must be 100% edible. Non-edible props are only permitted inside the cake and must not be visible. All common cake art techniques such as modeling, painting, 2D and 3D work, sugar flowers, royal icing, wafer paper and much more are permitted.
Each team is provided with work tables, cake dummies, fondant and modeling paste.
Bring your own tools, paints, silicone molds and other aids. You may use your own edible masses, but only in raw form – prefabricated decorations are not permitted. Please note that there is no electricity available on site. Teams may prepare their places half an hour before the start of the competition; all work must be completed by 5:30 pm sharp.
Voting & award ceremony:
The audience will be there live – both on Saturday from 14:30 during the creative work and on Sunday until 14:00, when all the finished cakes can be admired. The audience will vote for their favorites, and the award ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
A coordinator is available as a contact person during the competition. He will accompany the teams in an organizational and advisory capacity, but will not be involved in the cakes. The coordinator and members of TKD e.V. will monitor the process and coordination.
The best team will receive a cash prize of 150 euros.
