The baking and cake decorating community will once again be convening at Messe Dortmund on 23 and 24 March 2024 for CAKE & BAKE, Germany's largest cake decorating and baking show which is being held on the same weekend as CREATIVA. Year after year, the event offers visitors an opportunity to admire the best cake creations and be inspired by the latest trends, techniques and products. This year, those taking part in Germany's premier cake competition will not just have an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and creativity to a famous-name panel of judges, they'll also have the chance to qualify for the 2025 FIPGC World Championships in Milan.

Dortmund, 13 March 2024 – In tandem with Europe's largest creative show CREATIVA, the weekend of 23 and 24 March 2024 will also once again see Germany's largest cake design show presenting a wide range of exhibitors such as Saracino, Super Streusel, Dr Oetker, ArtGel and Styropor Products as well as programme highlights relating to baking and cake decoration. In 2024, CAKE & BAKE is again inviting all baking enthusiasts and confectioners to showcase their creativity by entering this highly respected cake competition. Professional and amateur bakers alike will be able to have their works of art judged by an international panel of outstanding cake designers. All showpieces will be on display at CAKE & BAKE for the entire duration of the show, open for visitors to view and admire. Attractive cash prizes and awards await the winners for the first time.

Participants in the CAKE & BAKE 2024 cake competition can demonstrate their artistic skills in a total of ten varied categories. Young bakers and decorators between the ages of 8 and 13 will also be able to show their masterpieces in the 'Junior: Happy Party Cake' and 'Junior Happy Party Cupcakes' talent categories.

Top prize: participation in the FIPGC World Championships in Milan

For the first time, teams taking part in the professional category of the cake competition will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 FIPGC World Championships in Milan. Panel member Kristina Rado, a member of the FIPGC (International Federation of Pastry Gelato and Chocolate), is the initiator of this category. Participation is in teams of two, presenting both a decorative cake and a travel cake. Any theme is eligible. Exhibits are assessed on the basis of various criteria. The winning team will represent Germany at the 2025 FIPGC World Championships in Milan.

International panel to judge the best designs

Headed by Margherita Ferrara, the panel of judges for Germany's premier cake competition in 2024 will not just be extremely international, but will also feature award-winning talents and subject-matter experts contributing their unique skills and experience as they judge the very best cake creations. Highlights of the show: exhibitions, an experience world and a highly diverse supporting programme

The 'Happy Animal World' exhibition by the International SugarArt Collaboration will be held for the first time at the show, giving visitors the opportunity to admire wild animals and plants designed by over 30 artists. South African cake designer Dorothy Klerck will be also creating an experience world for visitors to marvel at. The CAKE & BAKE Experience will allow visitors to immerse themselves in a fantasy world in which birds and other animals are created from fondant icing.

Celebrities and star guests are also expected at CAKE & BAKE. Influencer 'Tortenboss' will be taking part this year with his own stand. Another star guest on the CAKE & BAKE Stage will be entertainer, content creator and podcaster Carlo Sommer (a.k.a. CasaCarlo). He will be decorating a cake in his very own style at the venue. On Sunday, the CAKE & BAKE Stage will be dominated by the current season of Germany's celebrity bake-off 'Das große Promibacken' being broadcast on 'SAT.1'. Contestant and entertainer Julian F.M. Stoeckel and contestant and Kabel1 presenter Madita van Hülsen will be guests.

Workshops and interactive opportunities live at the venue

On Saturday, the LIVE COMPETITION will be held for the first time with five teams, each consisting of five people, designing a creation live in front of an audience within three hours. The winners will be announced on Sunday towards the end of the CAKE & BAKE show. Demonstrations, workshops and master classes will not just be held in Hall 3 (CAKE Academy) but may also be attended in workshop rooms. A special guest from the US will be artist Benny Rivera who will also be one of the judges of the cake competition. Registrations for workshops can still be made:

Bake Off meets CAKE & BAKE 2024!

Visitors will once again be able to meet all the contestants as well as winner Moni from the current season of German bake-off show 'Das große Backen'. The team will be on site with a stand right next to the CAKE & BAKE Stage.

Cake Academy

At CAKE & BAKE 2024, interested parties will be able to register for the Cake Academy – whether they are beginners, amateur bakers or experienced cake designers. In the Cake Academy, participants will design individual elements and learn new techniques on given topics. As the Cake Academy is located in the exhibition hall, spectators will be able to follow the action live.
